Friday, September 18 at 6pm: rehearsal & dinner for the immediate family & wedding party. For those staying over Friday night, there are a few restaurants around the island to choose from for dinner on your own. After 8pm, you can swing by the house to check out the camping out caterers and their slow-roasting feast.

Saturday, September 19 at 11:30am: outdoor ceremony and tasty lunch reception that will last til about 4pm featuring a slow-roasted hog. Be sure to stop by Erie Island Coffee Co. in the morning for a caffeine fix.

Please know that the ceremony and reception will both take place outdoors at the lake’s edge, so please dress comfortably for the weather.

Also, you don’t need to bring your car across to the island. We will provide free transportation for guests from the ferry to the ceremony if you catch the 10am or 10:30am ferry from Marblehead and we will have a trolley back to the ferry leaving the reception at 3:30pm and 4:30pm.

Location

Himmelblau House (meaning “sky blue” in German which translates in Italian to celeste) has been in the Celeste family for more than 20 years. The family home and surrounding 9 acres of cedar groves and meadows, sit on the shores of Lake Erie and back onto a state park where bird sightings and deer encounters are almost inevitable. The charming century-old Victorian farm is surrounded by indigenous wildflowers and imaginative fossil and crystal-rock gardens.

Noelle and Jon decided to get married here because of they both have special memories of summer days and nights up on Lake Erie: Noelle on Kelleys Island and Jon on Middle Bass Island.

In case you’re biking, golf carting or driving…

From the Ferry dock, make a Left at the STOP sign, onto West Lakeshore Drive.

Take West Lakeshore Drive to Addison Street where you will make a Right.The Kelley Mansion is on the corner on your right.

Continue up Addison to the STOP sign, and make a Right onto Woodford.

Continue on Woodford Road to Monagan Road, where you will make a Left.

Take Monagan Road to Lincoln Road, where you will make a Right.

Continue on Lincoln Road and just past the STOP sign, you will make a Right onto Shannon Lane.

Follow Shannon Lane until you see the signs for Parking.
