Kelleys Island is on the north coast of Ohio, in Lake Erie just off the coast from Marblehead. Marblehead is about 75 miles (or an hour and a half) west of Cleveland, Ohio. You can take a look at these directions from Google.
Unless you have your own boat or plane, the only way onto the island is by ferry. This means you have to plan ahead a bit, since the ferry will only be leaving Marblehead every half hour most of the day on September 19th, the day of our wedding.
You also have to remember that the ferry costs money. We have arranged a group discount so that each adult will cost $15 round trip, each child $9.50. Before you buy your tickets make sure to mention “Celeste & Benedict Wedding” so that you get the discount. You do not have to buy tickets in advance or make reservations for this ferry. Just get there a little early and you should be fine.
Note that each car will cost an additional $30 round trip, though you can also park on the Marblehead side for $8, then just go on the ferry without your car. There are both bikes and golf carts available to rent on the island. Also, we are providing transportation to guests who arrive on the island at 10:30am and 11am, from the ferry dock to the ceremony. With round-trip service bringing you back at either 3:30pm or 4:30pm.
